Innotrends Introduces Android Powered Ca-Fi In-Dash Stereo

This image has no alt text

Not satisfied with Android on just your phone and tablet? Wondering what it would be like to have that little green Android running your car stereo as well? Well, wonder no more, friends! Innotrends has introduced an Android powered in-dash stereo unit called the Ca-Fi. This (car battery sized) stereo runs on a 1.2GHz processor that houses a monstrous 6.2-inch 800×480 touchscreen display, DVD player, Bluetooth, USB slot, 2 microSD slots and integrated 3G radios for bumpin’ Justin Bieber’s finest, surfing the web (not recommended) or simply using Google’s tried and true Navigation app.

There’s only one small problem. Apparently, the Ca-Fi uses the double-DIN slot which according to ExtremeTech, isn’t too common in many US automobiles younger than 1990. Bummer. I’m not car audio tech, but I’m sure there is some other way to get this baby up and running when it launches Spring of 2012 in the UK.

This image has no alt text

It wasn’t but Mid-August that we learned about and were able to preorder Logitech’s keyboard case for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. The keyboard case is enabled via Bluetooth and essentially turns your tablet into a netbook either in portrait or landscape mode.

I’m sure this will be a hot commodity for many. It’s recently been taken out of preorder status and seems to be in shipping mode, according to their site. Throw down your $100 for one and see if they really are shipping them. Let us know if you are able to report the mission to be accomplished. [Logitech, Thanks Greg!]

Live Your Android Life Tangle Free With Sinch

This image has no alt text

This is going to sounds a little crazy but — one of the reasons I don’t fuss around with earbuds is simply because of how gosh-dang easy those things tangle up in my pockets. Seriously. It drives me crazy! I’ve never been one for puzzles and trying to untangle those things is is enough to make me convert primarily to using the speaker on my phone. Thankfully, I came across Sinch which just might get me using my headphones again.

As you can see, Sinch aims at keeping your life tangle free with this simple, “why-didn’t-I-think-of-that” accessory that attaches to your existing smartphone, MP3 player or whatever. Simply wind up your cord and Sinch snaps into place thanks to powerful magnets found on both ends. Its clever design is owed in part to frog who apparently had something to do with Imerj’s dual-screened Android powered smartphone we saw not too long ago. If you like what you see, you can grab your own Sinch in either black or white varieties from their site here for $15.99.

Samsung Galaxy S II Monitors New Ford Electric E-Bike Concept

This image has no alt text

First it was the Nike Mags and now this — the Ford E-Bike Concept. I think it’s safe to say, the future has finally arrived. This Android powered hybrid electric bike packs an electric motor built into the front wheel delivering up to 25 km/h maximum speeds on a 9.2Ah battery. If you’re still living in last century, you can also pedal the old fashioned way but really, why bother? The device you see in between the handle bars is a Samsung Galaxy S II installed with some specialized apps, effectively allowing you to change the bike’s suspension, keep an eye on your battery charge and use our favorite Google apps like Navigation (Gmail is not recommended). So when will this Android powered cycle go into mass production? Well, probably never. But it’s awfully purty, isn’t it? Now where’s my damn hoverboard?

Buy a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Smart Case and Stick it to Apple

This image has no alt text

A couple months back, in the midst of an Apple lawsuit claiming that many of Samsung’s product infringe directly patents pertaining to the iPad and iPhone, the appearance of a so-called Smart Case from Anymode seemed like a rather odd choice as an officially licensed tablet Galaxy Tab accessory. The Smart Case, you see, is in almost every way identical to the Smart Cover introduced alongside the iPad 2. Of course, Samsung was quick to point out that they had no involvement in the design and conception of the Samrt Cover clone, and little has been seen of it since. Well now you can pick up your very own for a few cents under $15. It’s the only case that says “see if I care how much this product blatantly rips off Apple.” Sticking it to the man.

Angry Birds Stereo Speakers Are Too Cute To Resist

This image has no alt text

Looks like the Angry Birds craze isn’t about to let up anytime soon if this new merchandise is any indication. Adding to the Angry Birds phenomena are these adorable speakers shown off at IFA this year. I’ll admit, I’m not an Angry Birds junkie but even then, it’s hard to deny the appeal of these cute stereo critters from Gear4.

The stereo speakers come in a variety of shapes and sizes, allowing you to pick your favorite fowl and plug-in using the inluded 3.5mm headphone jack. They even come with an included remote for adjusting volume from a distance and offer docking options for your iPod device. These guys are set to soar through Europe and the US in the coming weeks and should retail for around €69.

Must. Resist.

Philips unveils new Fidelio docking speakers for Android

Berlin, Germany - Philips is adding to its successful series of Fidelio docking speakers with a new range for Android smartphones and tablets, which will be launched at IFA. The Fidelio docking speakers for Android™ are based on the same speaker systems as the Fidelio for Apple range, so you can be sure to enjoy a stunning sound from your Android phone or tablet but with all the functionality you need for a simple experience.

As the micro USB connector on Android smartphones are placed in different positions and orientations on each phone, Philips has developed a unique connector design that adjusts in three dimensions to hold any phone in both portrait and landscape positions. This means you can dock and charge most Android phones and your phone will always be positioned at the centre of the speaker for the best sound experience.

To immediately enjoy your music in the simplest way, Philips has developed a dedicated Fidelio app for Android, which will automatically pair your smartphone with the docking station via Bluetooth. Using Philips Songbird media player, you can discover and play all your media and sync it seamlessly with the docking speaker. Its intuitive features let you discover new artists and music styles through music and media stores, services and websites. For completely hassle-free music enjoyment, you can play your own library and media straight from the web and effortlessly sync all of it from your PC to your Android devices.

The Fidelio for Android range includes the following devices:
The clean lines of the curved back on the Fidelio for Android (AS851) not only looks remarkable, but also creates a more effective structure for acoustics and precisely tuned bass pipes for deep, tight bass reproduction so you’ll experience a superb crystal-clear sound. This model comes with Philips Digital sound processing for lifelike, distortion-less music and 30W RMS total output power.

This slightly smaller Fidelio for Android (AS351) will give you the right sound at home and on the go. With the option to choose between battery and AC power, you can enjoy your music anywhere. This model offers Dynamic Bass Boost to preserve low tones for deep bass at any volume level and comes with 10W RMS total output power. A special shielding technology blocks mobile phone interference whilst the AUX-in at the back side of the device means you can connect almost any electronic device.

The third model in the range, the Fidelio for Android (AS111) comes in an elegant and compact design that looks gorgeous from every angle and fits onto every bedside table. Its 360-degree design gives a rich omni-directional sound to fill your bedroom, whilst neodymium speakers deliver a pure balanced sound so you can wake up to a great sound from your Android phone.

Phillips Introduces Fidelio Universal Speaker Dock for Android Phones and Tablets

This image has no alt text

Phillips has made it their prerogative to solve the universal Android speaker dock problem. Unlike iPods, iPads, and iPhones, Android devices don’t feature a standard port setup, though most do share a microUSB connection in common. Taking this into account, Phillips has developed a new addition to their Fidelio lineup of speakers tailor-made for Android devices. Using the same speaker technology featured in their iProduct compatible line, Fidelio for Android tackles the docking question through the use of connector that can adjust in three dimensions to hold handsets in both portrait and landscape mode. If your device still doesn’t fit or if you don’t feel like docking it, an accompanying app allows you to pair your handset with the Fidelio dock via Bluetooth.

The Fidelio for Android system will be available in three forms. A larger model (AS851) designed with enhanced sound in mind and pushing 30W RMS, a more portable version (AS351) pumping at 10W RMS, and a yet smaller speaker dock (AS1111) designed to fit on a bedside table. Press release follows.
