It has come to this: Samsung can’t sell its tablets in Australia, because of the recent beef it had in court with Apple. We remind you that recently, the Cupertino giant won in court part of the dispute with Samsung, so the South Korean firm must put on hold Aussie sales.
The Galaxy Tab 10.1 is in trouble here, as it supposedly infringes 10 Apple patents, including the “look and feel” of the device, plus touchscreen technology. Steven Burley, Apple lawyer detailed this recently and it appears that the iPhone maker wants similar bans in other countries, not only Australia.
For now, Samsung decided to stop advertising for the slate in Australia and it won’t sell it till the court approves it and the lawsuit is resolved. A simple understanding outside of the court room should bring peace to both companies and in case apple loses, it will pay damages to Samsung. We have to mention that this feud began back in April, when apple sued Samsung in the States on account of the Galaxy series products that copy designs and technology on the iPad and iPhone.
