10-inch HTC tablet spy shots come with AT&T and 4G branding

Puccini leaked
10-inch HTC tablet spy shots come with AT&T and 4G branding

According to rumours, we’ve known for some time that HTC is developing a 10-inch Honeycomb powered tablet codenamed the HTC Puccini; and now it seems we have proof, thanks to some spy shots that have turned up online.?

An anonymous Engadget reader has sent the gadget site a bevy of shots of the 10-inch tablet with AT&T; branding on the front and 4G LTE branding on the back.?

Further digging from the site suggests that the HTC Puccini, or whatever it's eventually called, will feature a 1.5GHz dual-core processor onboard, alongside 1GB of RAM, Honeycomb, 16GB of storage and a 10.1-inch WXGA touchpanel. The pictures also show that the tablet will be packing an 8 megapixel camera.

Notice the absence of the pen in that list. That’s not to say that it’s not going to be supported, but we are hearing it will be downplayed and an optional extra rather than bundled in the box.?

No word on when the Puccini will be launched, although word on the street - yes it really is that rough out there - is that it should be with us before Christmas.?

HTC Puccini Honeycomb Tablet Rebranded Jetstream in the AT&T Flavor

Remember the recent screenshots leaked and showing the HTC Puccini tablet? This Honeycomb device also hit the FCC not so long ago, complete with a bunch of specs… Although the name seems to have been stuck for a while, don’t get too comfortable with Puccini, since the AT&T version of the tablet will be called HTC Jetstream in the end.

This 10 inch LTE tablet is the follow-up to the HTC Flyer, a not so successful unit, mostly because of the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS it used. Also, some people weren’t too happy with buying its special stylus needed for the Scribe system separately and paying extra for it. We also expect a Sprint release of this model, most likely with the name EVO View 4G, according to speculations.

In Europe, Puccini might be called HTC Skyrocket, although that sounds a little bit childish to me, but the source of the info is a trademark filing from the old continent. We remind you that this is a 1.5GHz dual core processor slate we’re talking about, with an 8MP camera and customized Honeycomb experience.

New HTC phones coming 1 September?

Turning out to be a busy day
New HTC phones coming 1 September?

HTC is to hold one of its Meet HTC events for the public in London on 1 September, Pocket-lint has discovered after?surreptitiously?stumbling across the announcement on the company's Facebook page.?

Nothing too exciting about that you may think, until you realise that the last time the company had one of its “meet-ups” it was straight after the launch of the HTC Sensation. And gave those keen to have a play with the new handset a chance to do just that.

So, could this new event mark the launch of a new handset or several? We think so:

“It’s been a while since we last met, so we thought that we’d invite you to come party - and most importantly see what’s next,” says HTC on it’s UK Facebook page.?

“See what’s next”? Now, that is exciting.

It isn’t quiet on the HTC rumour front either at the moment, with gossip flying about ruminating on a whole manner of handsets and tablets.?

There's the HTC Puccini, the company’s 10-inch Android tablet, the HTC Bliss, a female focused smartphone, and the HTC Ruby, to name but a few.?

And 1 September is also the date that we’ve learnt that Microsoft will start to roll out the new Windows Phone 7 Mango update. Could that mean HTC Windows Phone 7 phones on the cards?

“There will be the usual food, drinks, music and a few phone treats for you to enjoy,” promises HTC.

Tickets are available on a first-come first-served basis and are available to those quick enough to say "yes" on the company’s UK Facebook page.

HTC’s 10-inch tab rides the Jetstream

Skyrocket in flight.....
HTC's 10-inch tab rides the Jetstream. Tablets, HTC, HTC Jetstream, HTC Puccini, HTC Skyrocket 0

HTC's forthcoming 10-inch tablet, once known as the HTC Puccini, has now been detailed - thanks to some AT&T; flavoured screen shots - and will apparently be called the HTC Jetstream.

The Jetstream will come a rocking with Honeycomb apparently and, apart from the AT&T; 4G connectivity will boast an engine room packing a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon MSM8660 1.5GHz dual-core processor, which is also said to be found in the HTC Ruby (or Amaze 4G as that might be called when it launches).

The display is said to be a Xoom-tastic 1280x800 WXGA one, with Scribe Magic Pen support, and it'll have HTC Sense thrown over the top, of course.

A 2011 release is touted, although nothing is confirmed. Over in Europe the rumour mill suggests the Jetstream may be living by a different name - the HTC Skyrocket. We'll keep you posted.

HTC Puccini Will Launch as HTC Jetstream on AT&T

This image has no alt text

New screenshots pulled from the HTC Puccini are shedding some light on what the tablet will be called when it hits the market, specifically AT&T’s version. Sticking with the aviation-esque theme established by the Taiwanese manufacturer’s first tablet, the HTC Flyer, the 10-inch Honeycomb slate will be tagged the HTC Jetstream when found bandying about AT&T’s airwaves. The tablet is said to be 4G-equipped, and an icon in the Honeycomb tray suggests as much. Still, whether this 4G will be LTE or merely HSPA+ remain unclear. The Jetstream name certainly suggests something with some speed behind it.

HTC Puccini Honeycomb Tablet Coming by Early October, According to Its Maker

Remember the HTC Puccini? This is one of the most awaited tablets out there, one that will launch in late September or early October, or so says HTC CFO Winston Yung. Meanwhile, we have yet to get a totally clear list of specs for this device, although its design is pretty certain right now.

The info comes from the Chinese paper Liberty Times, quoted by DigiTimes. We remind you that this model was first leaked as screenshots pointing towards AT&T release, only to be confirmed by a further leak of FCC material concerning it. As far as rumors go, the slate will come with a 10.1 inch touch display, like most of the famous Honeycomb devices this year, plus a 1.5GHz CPU.

Puccini is truly a Flyer follow-up, since it still uses the active stylus that the first slate took up. HTC expects to release more devices with stylus input in 2012, continuing the trends started with the Flyer. As far as connectivity goes, AT&T’s 4G LTE all the way, maybe with that new $50 for 5GB plan, recently announced by the operator.

Plus, you get an 8 megapixel camera at the back with dual LED to rival the cam on the Galaxy Tab 10.1v, if anyone remembers that…

HTCDev.com Shows Scribe Functionality on Honeycomb

This image has no alt text

It’s looking more and more likely that the HTC Puccini, HTC’s first Honeycomb tablet, will launch with the same Scribe support that the Flyer did. New photos have appeared on HTCDev.com, HTC’s new developer portal, showing on-screen Scribe pen controls and doodles on top of Honeycomb. We’re happy that HTC was able to successfully integrate this technology into a modern version of Android as we believe Scribe is one of the coolest things ever. Now, we just need them to actually announce the thing – it’s already been leaked to no end. [via Android Central]

HTC Puccini To Be Unveiled September 1st?

This image has no alt text

Apparently, HTC has been busy sending out invitations for a big September 1st event but is remaining tight lipped on exactly what will be unveiled. According to those that have received an invite (we’re still waiting on ours) no device was mentioned. Seeing how HTC has yet to release a Honeycomb tablet this is leading many to assume this event could be centered around the launch of HTC’s first 10-inch tablet, the HTC Puccini, that’s been leaked all around the net lately. The device was originally rumored for a mid August launch but again, those were only rumors. Has anyone been holding out or excited to get their hands on this particular Honeycomb tablet?

HTC Puccini Screenshots Show HTC’s Honeycomb Customizations, Overwhelming AT&T Bloatware

This image has no alt text

We didn’t expect HTC to jump into the Honeycomb tablet game without putting their stamp on the software, so we weren’t surprised when these shots courtesy of PocketNow surfaced. They’re screen grabs directly from the HTC Puccini, AT&T’s and HTC’s first Honeycomb tablet.

Right away, you can see where HTC’s made their mark. There are several HTC-specific applications for setting the device up and other special functions. You’ll also get HTC’s keyboard for tablets, which features a full number pad offset to the right. Pretty slick.

As you can see in the bottom tray, not only have they changed some of the icons up but they’ve also added a pen button, likely for the same Scribe pen functionality that can currently be found on the HTC Flyer.

The settings menu has also been spruced up a bit with HTC’s colorful suite of icons and a light background instead of a dark one. In the shot below, AT&T’s stamp is clear – bloatware, and tons of it. That’s not to say we’re not used to it by now, but we hate seeing this much preinstalled software on a Honeycomb tablet.

Looks pretty interesting, I’d say. We’re not sure if this build is near-final, but HTC could have more in the way of customization by the time this thing comes to Ma Bell.
