CTIA to Welcome Tons of Tablets, Important New Mystery Model, too

CTIA vice president Rob Mesirow recently provided some details concerning the devices that will be unveiled during the CTIA edition taking place this month. Of course, it will all be about tablets, just like CES in January. What really caught our attention was that “a significant new tablet” will be unveiled during the show, according to Mesirow.

Other than that, the official confirmed that we’ll be seeing not only slates but also a couple of new Windows Phone 7 devices. Android will once again be the focus of the event, since Mesirow claims that it will be the predominant smartphone platform at CTIA. If we were to guess what the mystery unveiling is, two names pop up in mind: Nokia and Intel. Both involve MeeGo and this makes sense, but considering this is an American event, it could be an US company taking the spotlight.

Could it be Motorola with a new Xoom already? Or maybe Microsoft with a surprise announcement?
