Deal Alert: Unlocked 16GB Galaxy Nexus Now Available For $430 (T-Mobile/AT&T)

This image has no alt text

We’ve seen this phone pop up on a daily deals site before, but never at this price. In fact, the last time it reared its head, I picked it up for a cool $460 (a price, I still feel great about). Now, the Galaxy Nexus has shown up once again, at the heavily discounted price of only $430 ($434.98 after shipping) on 1SaleADay.com. Unfortunately, this is only the silver/titanium color, so those looking for the white version of the G-Nex will have to look elsewhere.

The phone can typically be found for around $580, so this is a pretty nice discount. For those iffy about buying on 1SaleADay, I’ve done business with the site many times in the past and my only complaint is that it could take up to 3 weeks to receive your item (although I found it, usually around the 2 week mark). If that hasn’t scared you off, and you’ve been dying to get your hands on a contract-free Galaxy Nexus for activation on either T-Mobile or AT&T — now’s your chance.

Thanks, Killa357!

Sprint Uploads Galaxy Nexus Overview Video – Imminent Release Is Imminent

This image has no alt text

Sprint has just uploaded a new overview video for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Just like almost every other device on their network, the video covers all the features of the device, giving the world a look at what they can expect once the device is available on their network. And there’s that. Just when is the Galaxy Nexus going to arrive on Sprint?

Well, current rumors are showing it could launch next Sunday April 22nd with posters advertising the device going up in stores a week before then. You want my opinion? Buy this device on day 1. Get there early. Let’s show Sprint and other carriers we prefer our Android phones flavored with pure vanilla (Google).

If Anyone Believes This is the Nexus S 4G, I have an Oceanfront Home in Idaho to Sell You

Because this most certainly isn’t the Nexus S 4G. Nice one, Sprint. Oh, but you can keep that “free” price tag on there whenever you decide to launch the Galaxy Nexus. [Thanks Zachary!]

Sprint Stores Begin Receiving Signage For Galaxy Nexus LTE To Be Displayed This Sunday, April 15th

You know when your store begins receiving signage with a cold, hard, street date listed on them, that things are looking pretty official. Take this Sprint store for example, who has begun receiving posters for the Galaxy Nexus LTE which, according to the bold print on the packaging, will be displayed in store windows this Sunday, April 15th. It has been rumored that the device could launch on April 22nd, and with posters going up a week before then, we’re inclined to believe that date more than ever. What’s interesting is the poster makes no mention of the device being LTE capable. Something I’m guessing Sprint wants to keep on the “DL” until it can roll it out in more markets.

You can shake the higher-end specs of the HTC EVO 4G LTE at the Galaxy Nexus all you want, but there’s no denying the appeal of having a device loaded with the latest and greatest version of stock, vanilla Ice Cream Sandwich (with the higher probability of timely updates). Of course, only a handful of you will actually be able to enjoy Sprint’s LTE at device launch. The first cities ready for a handset that can tap into the 1900Mhz frequency have been announced as Atlanta, Baltimore, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City and San Antonio.

Any Sprint customers out there excited about this news? Will you be picking up the G-Nex this Sunday? Maybe the HTC EVO 4G LTE is a little more your style? Or maybe, just maybe… you’ll hold out a little longer for the rumored release of the Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note?

Thanks, _Epic!

Rumor: AT&T Galaxy Nexus with 4G LTE in the works

This image has no alt text

We have yet to see a Nexus device come to AT&T, but according to this week’s rumors the wait might be ending soon. It seems like AT&T is currently testing Samsung Galaxy Nexus devices to run in its 4G LTE network. And a number of 4G LTE SIM cards have been sent to the wild to see how well the Galaxy Nexus performs.

The news come from Andro Rev, who’s source is claimed to be working “very close to the situation.” It is also mentioned that these are standard SIM cards, unlike Verizon’s micro SIM cards. The source does confirm that these are 4G LTE enabled, and the SKU for the SIM cards is 73057.

Whether this is true or not is something that only time will tell. As always, we should take it with a grain of salt. Rumors come and go around the inter webs, many of them proving to be false. But what do you guys say? Would you go for AT&T’s Galaxy Nexus if it does, in fact, get released soon? Is it too late by now?

Warning: Galaxy Nexus (GSM Version) Suffering From Signal Loss After Updating To Android 4.0.4

This image has no alt text

Should have seen this coming. Bugs after an Android update are often a common occurrence ’round these parts, and now it’s Galaxy Nexus user’s turn to share in the sorrow after updating their devices to Android 4.0.4. Apparently, this bug is a pretty nasty one. Users have taken to Google’s Android issue tracker and are reporting that after updating to Android 4.0.4., their device has been experiencing connectivity issues whenever entering sleep/screen off mode. Once asleep, the Galaxy Nexus will completely lose signal, causing missed calls, texts, push notifications and anything else that requires signal. Yeah, not good.

Google has acknowledged the issue and is asking for users to submit bug reports to help with developing a solution. In the meantime, rooted users can either clock their CPU’s minimum clock speed to 700MHz to help alleviate the issue or simply revert back to Android 4.0.2 where I currently am sitting pretty. Oh, and if you’re on Verizon Wireless with a CDMA version of the Galaxy Nexus, don’t worry. The issue seems to only be with GSM versions of the device. Any GSM Galaxy Nexus users who have updated to 4.0.4 affected by the bug?

Leaked Sprint Training Slides Dispel Rumors Of Improved Galaxy Nexus “Plus” – Specs Confirmed?

This image has no alt text

Earlier today, there was a juicy leak showing documentation that we could be seeing the launch of the Galaxy Nexus for Sprint on April 22nd. In case you haven’t checked your calendar lately, that’s just in a few short weeks. We now have a few leaked slides being sent to Sprint employees for training purposes on exactly what to expect once the device arrives in stores. Guess what? There’s nothing new here. And that’s either good or bad news depending on which side of the fence you’re sitting on.

It was rumored 2 months ago that Sprint customers could be seeing a souped up version of the device, after a leaked Sprint ad showed a Galaxy Nexus with a “1.5GHz dual-core processor.” Although, this was great news for Sprint users who have been waiting for the device since it was announced, this sent current Galaxy Nexus owners into a tissy, causing them to instantly feel as if their devices became a lump of coal. Well, these leaked slides have seemingly even the playing field now that it appears as if the device will be the very same Galaxy Nexus as the Verizon and GSM version of the device. Looks like no Galaxy Nexus Plus after all.

It’s not all sad news for Sprint customers. You guys will still get your hands on the 32GB version of the device. Lately those have been going the way of the dinosaur. Anyone still have their hearts set on the Galaxy Nexus? Or has the HTC EVO One stolen your attention?

Android 4.0.4 Also Rolling Out to GSM Galaxy Nexus Devices

Earlier today it was learned that Google was getting ready to push Android 4.0.4 to GSM Nexus S devices. Well, it looks like the Galaxy Nexus has been invited to the party. GSM versions of the device are now receiving the update, but it is still unclear what exactly is changed.

We’ve heard from readers that it does seems a bit “zippier,” and “smoother,” but that’s about it. There should be a lot more going on, though, as it’s said there are over 100 changes over 4.0.3. Fingers crossed that owners of the CDMA versions of these devices will get the update before the apocalypse rises. [Google+, thanks Shawn!]

Unlocked Galaxy Nexus On Sale For $460 In White or Silver [Deals]

This image has no alt text

If you’ve been eyeballing the Galaxy Nexus for either T-Mo or AT&T, you might want to get your tail-end on over to DailySteals right now. The daily deals online retailer currently has a brand new, unlocked, 16GB Galaxy Nexus for only $460. That’s about $290-off the normal retail for the phone.

And yes, it was a deal so good, not even I could pass it up. It’s true. As I’ve mentioned in numerous posts in the past, I haven’t been too happy with Sprint in my area and don’t see getting better anytime soon (quite the contrary, it’s actually gotten worse). With my Sprint contract up in just a few short months, I plan to make the trek on over to either AT&T or T-Mobile — both of which the unlocked Galaxy Nexus should be able to handle just fine.

Look, ma! I’m a cool kid now!
