MWC 2011: Pocket-lint exclusive confirmed
Samsung has, as Pocket-lint exclusively?broke on Friday, announced a new 10.1-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab (the?Samsung Galaxy Tab 2)?at its keynote conference on Sunday night at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The new tablet, still dubbed the Samsung Galaxy Tab, will be launched in co-operation with Vodafone?and come with a 1GHz dual-core processor, a 10.1-inch (WXGA TFT LCD) touchscreen with a 1280 x 800 resolution and running the latest version of Android - Honeycomb (3.0).
Going for a thin and light approach, the new Samsung Galaxy Tab will weigh 599g and be super thin - at just 10.9mm.
Other features hoping to help it stand out from the crowd include an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with auto focus and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video calling.
Connectivity includes HSPA+ 21Mbps, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, while it will come with low power DDR2 memory and 6860mAh battery.
Users will also get Flash 10.1 support and dual surround-sound speakers to provide full audio immersion. Formats supported include MPEG4/H263/H264 and the device will support 1080p Full HD video playback at 30fps and 1080p Full HD video recording at 24fps.
Other points of note include a gyroscope, accelerometer, digital compass and proximity sensors.
Unfortunately Samsung or Vodafone hasn't as yet mentioned when they hope to make the new Samsung Galaxy Tab available to buy.?
