Acer Iconia Tab A100 Honeycomb Tablet Reaches the FCC

Acer Iconia Tab A100 is a 7 inch Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet that has just passed the FCC and it’s now getting ready for launch. The bigger brother of this version, the 10.1 inch Iconia Tab A500 has already been available in stores, but now it’s time to take things down a notch.

The specs are pretty good, with a 7 inch 1024 x 600 pixel display, a dual core Tegra 2 CPU, 512MB of RAM and a 5 MP camera at the back. A front 2MP camera, 8GB of storage and a microSD card slot complete the features list, while connectivity is all about the WiFi and Bluetooth. This device runs Android 3.0 Honeycomb not version 3.1 and it’s only available as the WiFi version, without 3G.

We’ve heard info about the possible delay of the A100, because of incompatibility of Honeycomb software with the 7 inch screen. The unit should have been launched in May, but it’s now slated for H2 2011.
